The master and his "friends"!

So I might be the coolest mom ever! You see I have a very sweet 12 year old boy. How does that make me cool you ask? Well teh only thing he asked for Christmas this year was clothes and a scorpion or a hairy spider they call a tranchila (I am sure that is not how you spell it but oh well if you are looking for the dictionary I am not it)! So off I went to the pet store. Well as I stood there looking at the two "evils" that I had to choose from it was more than I could bear so I left!! As the days got closer to Christmas I realized I really needed to choose between these two "evils". So I went back to the store and stood some more. When the store clerk came up to me I said, with a very horrible look on my face, "I guess I need to buy the better of two "evils" so I need a scorpion. I still can't believe I have it in my home! And for those of you who don't know Chase's birthday is the day after Christmas and so for his birthday he got a friend for his scorpion becasue I don't believe in just having one of anything because they can get lonely! I know whatever they are bugs for peet sake, but none the less he is a very happy kid and I am "the best MOM ever"!!

So this is what a scorpion looks like they are nice and black with a plump little belly. They have two claws on the front. These only pinch a little. Whatever I am not gonna stick my hand in there to find out!!

The three bottom pictures are when you put a black light on them.
If you notice they are glowing green! Pretty cool huh?
I must admit they are not as yucky as I had originally thought.
They are pretty cool. I even got up the nerve the other day to hold one. The feet are mighty sticky and it wouldn't come off of my hand! Yes I freaked out and Chase and Gabby thought it was the funniest thing ever! I told Chase," if it stings me I will beat you"!! Not really that's why he continued to laugh. He did finally help me get her off so I no longer have this beautiful "piece of jewelry" on my hand!

Teil's first track meet 3-13-2009

This is Teil's first track meet of the season. He ran the 800 in which he placed 2nd. And he ran a 4X4 medley relay in which they took 2nd place as well.
Now mind yuo this event took place two days after he ran 9 miles for a fundraiser. Yes that's right 9 miles!! Second place isn't so bad. He ran the 800 in 2.07 his record at the end of last year was 2.05 as you can imagine he will beat that by far this year I have no doubt!

Shifting everyone down to make sure they have enough space for all of the racers.

Gathering his thoughts before the race.

Getting ready for the gun to go off.

This is going into the final lap. That is his teammate Christian on his heels.

This is him crossing the finish line of the 800. Look at those long legs. Man is he tall!!

This is Gabby and she has just finished throwing the ball!
Same with Chase. He is quite the bowler!
Fun times!!

The accident prone one... ME!

So anyone who knows me well knows that when I get hurt or sick I don't just get hurt or sick I take it to a whole new level. Case in point.. Tuesday of this week I am walking up to a building. I decide to open the "heavy" door or what I think is a heavy door. I grab the metal door handle with my right hand, the hand I write with, and will all of the force my 95 pound body can muster up I swing the door open... still clutching onto the metal handle of the door... and... BAM... my hand slammes into a metal bar. So lets refresh here... metal door handle, right hand clutching onto the metal door handle, metal bar, what does this all add up to? A huge POP in my hand, an immediate purple mark on the top of my hand, and a huge hematoma in the palm of right hand. Did I mention I am right handed??
So after an hour of being in horrible pain I decide I need to have it looked at! So I go to an "urgent care" facility. Really "urgent care" I don't think waiting two hours is being "urgent" but what do I know, I am just in pain right? So after someone has to fill out my forms for me, 'cuz I am right handed and can't write, they take me to x-ray. The girl takes pictures of my hand in some painful positions and then sends me to my room. Dr. comes in says nothings broken, which is good, does say that I broke blood vessels thru and thru and they will take about two months to heal, wraps up the said hand, give me a prescription for some happy pills, and sends me on my merry way.
Have you ever driven with one hand? We all have from time to time, maybe everytime you drive. Well when you HAVE to drive one handed it's not that easy! House hold tasks now look impossible. Your hair and makeup can be pretty scary! And buttoning your pants, not a good thing with a brace on your hand. That's when you enlist your 15 year old "hero" to button them for you. Sorry kid I will call and make you a counseling appointment!
so to add insult to injury I wake up Wednesday morning to find someone has replaced my right had with a "man hand"! Who did this? That is wrong! Then the more I looked the hungrier I got because my fingers resembled sausages!! Ok so the happy pills worked to well!!
Well today is Thursday and I am pleased to say I have upgraded my "sausages" to "little smokies" and I can only hope that tomorrow they will be back to normal!!

So the moral of this story... LET GO OF THE HANDLE!!!

I took the first step.

Well tonight I took the first baby step and went to a dance. It was a church dance so don't get to excited. Actually it was great! I had a blast! I met a few great ladies that helped me feel very comfortable. I even danced with a guy... well an 8 year old boy but that still counts right? Give me a break I am new at this!!
I was asked to dance a slow dance but I gracefully declined. I felt so bad after declining that when the dance was over I went up and apologized to the gentleman. I know what you are gonna say, "what a dork" right? Well I did feel bad for saying "no" but I just wasn't comfortable.
Anyway I did it and I am proud of myself for going!
Thanks to my big brother Rich for telling me to "get out and do something"! Love ya Rich!!

Good night all!

It's Final.

Well everyone.. what am I saying? The three of you who follow my blog! My divorce is final. I am not sure how I feel right now. It is all kind of surreal. It was over in about five (5) minutes. We were married for 17 years and this is how it played out in court. Jeran didn't come to the court house. I actually asked him not to come. I know that might sound mean but I had started this process by myself so I thought it should be finished by myself. Well I wasn't by myself, my dear dear friend Sarah came with me. Let me tell you what a blessing it was to have her there.
So Sarah and I are sitting in the court room and then another couple with their son enters. We all sit there for awhile. My appointment was at 3pm. Well that came and went and I started to get nervous thinking I was in the wrong place. Well the court clerk comes in and says they have changed judges and so we need to change court rooms. And of course we do so.
We sit and wait a few more minutes and low and behold in comes the judge. This is how the proceedings go..

Court clerk (cc): "All rise blah blah Judge XX presiding".

Judge XX: "All may be seated".

J XX: "Millett party please come forward".

J XX: "Is the other party here"?

Me: "No"

J XX: "Do you have your papers"?

Me: "Yes".

J XX: "Will you bring them to me"?

Me: "Yes". (I take them to him).

J XX: "You can stand back at the table".

J XX: "Well I have reviewed your papers and all of the lines are filled in. Everything looks good. And now with my signature you are divorced have a nice day!"

Me: "Ok"?... (I still stand there!)

I am looking at the judge as he is writing something. He looks up and sees me still standing there.

J XX: "Um you can leave now"

Me: "Um.. ok"? (I pick up my htings and leave)

I walk out of the court room, look at Sarah, and say, "what just happened" and Sarah replies, "I think you are divorced!"

Still daized and confused I stand with everyone who is there to pays fines or something else. Not sure if I am even in the right place. I pull a number, they call my number, I go up and tell them of my business, they find my papers, do what they need to do, give me my copies, say "congradulations" and then I am free to go.

Now don't get me wrong. I am grateful there was no "drama" or "big show" but when you are married for 17 years and then it's over in 5 minutes with a "have a nice day" it is really hard to wrap your brain around. I know that I was being blessed! My Heavenly Father knew I needed it to go smoothly. I was able to hold it together and not cry. I am proud of myself!

I want to thank everyone who has stood by my side and helped me through this!! Even if you weren't here physically I know you were here in spirit and I love you all!!

And a huge "Thank you" to the boss man himself "GQ" for being a great boss through this very stressful time!! I promise I will work better!! lol

I am excited for what the future holds for me and my kiddos!

A blast from the past.

So we are gonna work from the bottom up! I will get the hang of this... I hope!!
1. I think in this photo I am about 4. I am the littlest. Next to me is my oldest sister Sue, next to her is my sister Laurie, on the couch on the left is my dad Richard (or "Dick" I hated that name for him) my mother Evelyn, my oldest brother Rich, and then last but not least my brother Russel. If you look very closely you can see you dad's mom, my grandma Juanita. That wonderful lady turned "90" years old last summer!
2. This one I will call "way to much flannel"! Funny huh?? On a little of a sad note... these are the only two "family" pictures I have of my whole family together! It goes Russ, Me, Rich, Lauire,
above is Sue, My Mom and then My Dad.
3. This one is of me and my sisters! I am first (aka Dumbo look at those ears!) Sue is next to me and then Laurie.
4. Me and my sisters again! We look so happy to be with eachother!! Good Times!!
5. Last but not least this one is my favorite! This is me and my sisters again! Notice the outfits! How can you not!! Wow is an understatement.
No really my grandma used to make my sisters and I all matching everything. Dresses, jammies, shirts, blankets, ect. She was an amazing seamstress! She would always make them a little different so we could tell them apart. I think my favorite jammies she made for my sisters and I were the floral blue ones. She made them differently and then she put the first initial of our names on the shirts. I thought it was especially cool because I loved Lavern and Shirley at the time I our monograms where the same as theirs!!
THANK YOU GRANDMA!!
